Shades of Winter launched its first ever FilmFest

Meet the athletes

The evenings were not only about watching movies, ranging from five to 25 minutes. At each location interesting insights and behind the scenes were given by interviews after the screening. Further guests had the opportunity to meet the protagonists for a chat, take a picture or get a signed film poster.

This was the first Shades of Winter FilmFest!

In fall 2018 Shades of Winter presented its first ever interactive FilmFest showcasing adventure films from across the globe.

Olympic gold medalist Julia Mancuso from the US, Freeride World Tour champions Nadine Wallner (AUT), Lorraine Huber (AUT) and Arianna Tricomi (ITA) , Olympic freeskier Janina Kuzma from New Zealand, up-and-coming skier Hedvig Wessel (NOR), big mountain skier and filmmaker Sandra Lahnsteiner and filmmaker Zoya Lynch (CAN) led the tour as the Shades of Winter FilmFest hit STOCKHOM – MUNICH – VIENNA – SALZBURG & INNSBRUCK between November 27 and December 13, 2018.

„I’ve had the idea for the FilmFest already a while ago, but the final motivation hit me quite spontaneously. Fortunately, I know many projects and athletes and they were all super excited about the opportunity to present their work,“ says Lahnsteiner, who with COUPLES & CONNECTS had two #shadesofwinter short films in the line-up for the FilmFest 2018.
